Day two of New York Fashion Week Autumn/Winter’2015-2016 was spoilt for choice by the variety showcased by designers on the runway. From BCBG Max Azria’s experimentations with winter-boho vibe, Costello Tagliapietra’s interplay of traditional and modern aesthetics to a heart-warming fashion show by American Heart Association, it makes us all the more curious for what’s next to come on day 3.

BCBG Max Azria: The designer-duo opted for subtle colours with focus paid on garment construction and cuts. With relaxed & loose silhouettes, the collection had a winter-boho vibe to it. Elements of layering, fringe details and tribal patterns were paired with luxurious material like leather, shearling and lace to add to the sophistication.  High-knee boots in almond and black stood out, further elevating the boho-chic look.

Costello Tagliapietra: The designer showcased an interesting collection of traditional meets modern. The colour palate was sober and dark in shades of deep wine, sea-blue, grey, chocolate brown and grey. Fashion got nostalgic as the runway witnessed high-waist pants paired with suspenders, below the knee skirts and plaid print in modern silhouettes. The looks were completed with oxfords. Overall one could sense the vintage appeal but in a contemporary sense of calm.

Nike Levi’s Kid Rock: The show witnessed a bright brigade of kids walking down the ramp donning sporty ensembles in Nike, Hurley & Jordans. Attention was not only focused on ensembles but also majorly in funky accessories and footwear. The collections showcased brought about an element of fun and youth amidst the dull winter season.

Go Red For Women Red Dress Collection: The Red Dress collection presented by Macy’s was fashion for a cause, to demonstrate support for women’s heart health. Women from different walks of life walked the ramp in a stunning variety of red dresses. The funds generated from this event would go towards the noble cause.
